Our pub was established in 1890. It took its current name from the nearby technical school. The pub is known for its informal atmosphere, affordable drinks, properly served beer, legendary tvarůžky (Czech cheese) on bread, and other homemade snacks.
A key strength of Průmyslovka is the continuity of its operation. Located at the corner of Veveří and Jana Uhra Streets, it has been serving guests for over 130 years, making it one of the last pillars of the traditional Brno pub scene. Our patrons don’t visit for years, but for decades, appreciating that we remain true to our roots and do not follow fleeting trends.
In 2024, the pub underwent a partial renovation, including the installation of a new draft system and an upgrade of the facilities to ensure the highest quality of beer, meeting the latest standards. The pub is especially popular among sports fans, offering a comfortable setting to watch sports broadcasts, including international events.
Our spacious venue also accommodates a variety of private events, for which we provide catering tailored to the customer’s preferences.

You can view our permanent in the offer menu. The pub at Jana Uhra 1, formerly known as Sturmgasse, has roots dating back to the 1890s. The street itself was established in 1890, and the earliest recorded mention of the establishment appears in the Brünner Zeitung on November 16, 1890. This notice referred to an upcoming meeting of the Association of Restaurant and Café Owners, set to take place on November 19 at the restaurant owned by Franz Waniura.
According to the 1890 census, Franz Waniura, born in 1842, operated the pub with a small household including Anna Ratschitzká, a widow managing the household, her four daughters, and a staff consisting of a head waiter, a waiter, and a maid.
By January 1891, the Brünner Zeitung announced a carnival event with a raffle at the “newly established restaurant of Mr. Waniura” on February 1. Waniura remained the proprietor until 1892, after which other owners followed:
Ferdinand Nemetschke Jr. (1892—1898): His ownership is documented in city directories and newspapers.
Alois Adámek (1900—1901): After his passing in 1901, his wife Angela continued managing the pub, with records confirming her tenure until at least 1913.
The pub’s storied past is a testament to its role in Brno’s vibrant community, hosting events and bringing people together for over a century.
